The Dutch government has the target to install 6000 MW before 2020, which should be 20% of the energy use.
This means that in the Netherlands 1200 turbines of 5 MW should be installed, at the moment 230 MW is installed...
These turbines are around 100 meters high with rotor blades of 60 meter!
Ing. Jan. R. Hogervorst claims that the vision to fill the Noordzee with huge wind turbine farms is a utopia and introduces an alternative solution for offshore wind energy. This man has been active in the offshore industry for 33 years.
His solution would bring the space required for offshore wind energy down considerably.
I hope he succeeds!!
