Can you imagine the amount of steel left behind if all monopiles are only cut off 3 meters under the ground surface...
Why not re-use the foundations and install a new turbine on the foundation!

This is why we think there is a limit for the use of piled foundations. Our patented self-installing GBS type foundations are also easily removed at the end of the life and can then be refitted with new turbines. The design using post stressed concrete means they are much less susceptible to fatigue damage and hence have at least a 50 year life.
